Xapo's entities are regulated by the [Gibraltar Financial Services Commission](http://www.fsc.gi/) (GFSC). The GFSC supervises and regulates both fiat currency and crypto activities, allowing us to offer our unique proposition by bridging the gap between traditional banking and cryptocurrency.

The fiat services we provide fall under our banking entity, Xapo Bank, and are covered by the Gibraltar Deposit Guarantee Scheme (GDGS). This means that the US dollars you store in your Xapo Bank account are protected up to the currency equivalent of £120,000.

Xapo VASP provides you with Bitcoin services. While this entity is also regulated by the GFSC, your Bitcoin is not covered under the GDGS.

By being regulated, we are committed to giving you peace of mind when you store your wealth in a Xapo Bank account.

You do not need to be a Gibraltar resident to benefit from the GDGS. Please visit GDGB's [website](https://gdgb.gi/) for more information.
